The S40 is IP68 certified, so it can be submerged in three feet of water for 60 minutes. All of the ports are covered with sturdy rubberized aluminum flaps, and has warning sensors to notify if the flaps aren't properly closed.

The S40 also features a headphone jack, micro usb port, nano sim slot, and microSD card slot.
